Evolving Logo—National Geographic

Rebranding project of National Geographic with an identity that evolves using real live data of the season and locations.

Problem Statement:
National Geographic is a media that celebrates the world's wonders. How can I convey this brand's positivity through rebranding in today’s context?
Solution:
Diversity in nature is tied to climate zones, influenced by daylight length. I expanded the iconic frame, adjusting its width to reflect daytime length and its height to a location's latitude, creating variations based on the user’s selection.

Created a brand system that changes by the real-time data of the amount of sunlight (the length of the daylight time) and the latitude of the place.
Developed a generator that creates different patterns of the brand identity depending on when and where you're located at.
Applied the interactive brand identity system across print and digital mediums.
